She completed her Bachelor of Arts at the University of Music in Nuremberg with distinction and works on the “Lied” genre with Prof. Marcelo Amaral. Since September 2020 she has been continuing her Master of Arts in Singing and Music in Context with Tanja Ariane Baumgartner at the Bern University of the Arts (Switzerland). The “Accademia di Europa” scholarship holder received further impressions in master classes with Sibylla Rubens (Oberstdorfer Musiksommer), Robert Gambill, Sarah Maria Sun, Dame Felicity Lott and Christiane Iven, among others.


She made her musical theater debut as Papagena, leading roles followed as Frau Luna in Paul Lincke’s same named Operetta, Euridice in J. Offenbach’s “Orphe é aux Enfers”, both conducted by G.J. Rumstadt, Euridice in W. Gluck’s Orfeo at the Abendsberg Theater, in two world premieres at the statt.oper Munich and in E. Poppe’s “IQ” at the Nuremberg State Theater. Further she performed in R. Schumann’s “Der Rose Pilgerfahrt“ as the Rose, J.S. Bach’s Johannes Passion, at the Richard Strauss Festival in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, at the Augsburg Brecht Festival, at the Days of Early Music in Nuremberg or as a soloist with the Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra. Concert tours have taken her to Buenos Aires, Venice, Florence and Prague. She is a regular guest at cultural sites such as the Meistersingerhalle Nürnberg or the Gasteig Munich.


Mara Maria also works as a project manager and music mediator, where she benefits from her professional training as a journalist at „mediengruppe pressedruck“. In addition to directing various ensembles, she specializes in experimental music and interdisciplinary performances with her kollective CONTEMPORAMENT. As a project manager, she organizes, initiates and designs educational and cross-art concepts such as “Beethoven bei uns”, “In 80 Minuten um die Welt” ore „inclouSING“. 


After prizes at „Jugend musiziert“ or “Musica Bavariae” in her youth, Mara Maria was honoured at the C&W International Music Competition, the International Competition of the Song of the 20th and 21st Century in Karlsruhe (GER), the creativ competition “Kurzschlusskreationen” of the LEONARDO Center for Creativity and Innovation, and the D-Bü competition 2020. Recently she won the international HUGO competition for concert dramaturgy with her kollektiv CONTEMPORAMENT. In addition to her scholarship from the Richard Wagner Association in Nuremberg and the Bovicelli scholarship for vocal music from the renaissance of the Weissenbrunn Palace Music Academy, she has been a „Deutschlandstipendium“ holder since October 2019 and became accepted by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation.
